    I thoroughly enjoyed your story. You were correct to say that the old Norodom Palace was destroyed by the 1962 bombing. One minor correction to set the record straight: Diem was in Gia Long's Palace when the South Vietnamese Army overthrew him and his brother. Gia Long's Palace is now the Ho Chi Minh City Museum; it's located on Ly Tu Trong (formerly Gia Long) between Pasteur and Cach Mang Thang Tam (formerly Cong Ly).
