What a great description of this year's 'boil.' I so wish i coulda been there.

Last year's was wunnerful too.. it predated the flickr/blog combo tho, so pix of that event reside on auntie's hardrive.. and the husbear's family's hardrive...and girlie's paternal grandparents hardrive... and ....Aunt Jod-I and Uncle Keiff's hardrive... and Aunt Anne and Uncle Erik's hardrive...maybe even brother Dave's and brother Brandon's hardrives .... and ...and...LOTS OF FOLKS' hardrive because it was sooooooo much fun! that people came for all points of the continent.(really!)

Oh man, you sure did make me envious with this post! this is the first year (in the past seven) that i have not been in louisiana for crawfish season. this pictures and your discription have caused me to really miss louisiana for the first time since moving to paradise (aka San Diego). Great post!

Boots in the Oven

Thank you, both of you! Going to Lousiana for a crawfish boil is definitely a lot of fun... it's a kind of gathering I never really imagined, growing up in Chicago.

I bet San Diego has its own fun traditions, though!

Haven't had a crawfish yet, but I think I'm going to venture out to a semi-local Crawfish Fest in June and check it out. Your feast looks delicious!

Thanks, Cate! Crawfish are definitely worth trying - some people can't get past the look of them, but if you can do that, it's a total treat.
